The first piece of technological concept art for an upcoming illustration project. Yes, it's a boat. It's also a train. Sort of...
The funny-looking things that appear on the top in various places are spotlights, and the circular piece at the top is a closeup of the crest on the front of the engine. The squares on the structures towards the back are all windows. So, the scale of this thing is, well, quite large.
what's wrong with steampunk? I've always been a fan of long-obsolete technology and anything Victorian era, so I don't really feel as if I found anything new now that I know those interests have a label.

LOL, it just seems as if all of DA is steampunk. Nothing wrong with it, just getting trite Like anime or manga.
I've never been one to want a label put on me, so it seems so odd that millions of people from 10-50 years old want to call themselves steampunk Even the jewelers, some older than me, are making steampunk stuff, LOL. I did like the Golden Compass, and Jules Verne rocks; but, I'm not much one to dress up like the characters
this vaguely reminds me of the airships from FFXI. which, naturally, were a "steam" idea themselves. i wish i was this talented with perspective & sketching in general. look forward to seeing more!
